Lately Mariah likes to distinguish gender roles....with almost everything. I don't know where she gets most of it.

Cody: How are you, Dude?"
Mariah: Don't call me dude. Dude is for boys.

Cody: (on the phone) Are you going to dance tomorrow?
Mariah: Yeah

Mariah: No... Pretty

Mariah: Mom, I'm scared of bad guys.
Me: It's ok. I'll protect you.
Mariah: Daddy could fight them. Boys fight bad guys and girls go call the police.

We're putting sod down on Saturday and then we're done. I didn't take enough pictures and missed a lot of steps. Here are the latest pictures...sorry they're blurry. I'll put up better ones soon.

the house has changed a lot since the last house post.
First insulation went in

And the stucco was put on. I missed a few steps on the exterior


And i have better pics somewhere...on cody's phone i think. Our house is being painted now and we just finished the last exterior walls on the last house today! Our new goal to finish--all 8 houses--is august 5th. I think that might be move-in goal :)

Mind of Mariah

Mariah is becoming more helpful. She likes to help fold clothes (without being asked). She helps feed Liam and likes to choose his clothes. i even found her putting his jammies on him. Oh and the other day she made "dinner." She buttered bread for everyone all by herself. It's pretty cute and I love the extra help.

And here's some little stories and things she said that made me laugh

The other day Mariah tripped in the target parking lot. She got up so fast, grabbed onto me and said, "Oh no! Cars are going to drive on me now!"

I guess i have to explain parking lot safety a little more clearly.

I was giving her some chocolate chips for a treat and she said

"mom, give me too much please."

Mariah was printing out Disney Princess coloring pages all by herself. She had Pocahontas, Ariel, Belle, Aurora and Jasmine pictures...

Me: Mariah, that's enough, ok? Just go color your pages.
Mariah: Ok
Few minutes later, maybe seconds, as Mariah heads to the office yet again:
Me: Mariah, did you just print another picture?
Mariah: No
Me: Which one did you print?
Mariah: Cinderella

Lately Liam has been saying a bunch of words, consistently and in context. it's way cute. I wished i would have written down when Mariah said words and how she pronounced them so i'm doing it for him, at least for a little bit.

Liam Turns One

We had 3 birthday parties for Liam--lucky boy

One at Grandma&Grandpa Frisby's. Grandma Cathy made a big dinner for everyone. Thanks Grandma!

I made him a chocolate cake and he LOVED it

Me: Far away...over the mountains
Mariah: Where the penguins live?
Me: Oh, do the penguins live in the snowy mountains over there?

Me: Penguins live in Antarctica on a big block of ice....like on Happy Feet.
Mariah: oooOOOoooohhhhh. it's cold?
Me: yeah
Mariah: we can't live there. We would need to wear coats.... or save our money and buy penguin costumes

Building skills

We are having tons of fun building. Cody has a bunch of experience and i totally dig his saw skills....nailing skills....wall building skills.
i, on the other hand, have never done anything like this and am excited to say that i can use a circular saw now...something i never ever thought of doing before. i'm not perfect, but I get better every time. And I used the nail gun today...still suck at it. Anyway, i'm totally loving it. It is seriously so much fun.
